Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about our recovery services and events across Europe.
What is Ignite Recovery?
Ignite Recovery is a fully mobile recovery service providing professional-grade recovery experience at sports events, competitions and corporate wellness gatherings. Our recovery offering includes traditional sauna, cold plunge and compression and percussion therapy.
Who can use Ignite Recovery services?
Our services are suitable for most healthy adults aged 16 and over. Participants must complete a short waiver before use. If you have any medical conditions or concerns, we recommend consulting a medical professional before taking part.
Do I need to book in advance?
At some events, walk-ins are welcome but this is also subject to availability. For busy events, advance booking is strongly recommended to guarantee a slot. Booking details will be shared by the event organiser or be available on our website.
What should I bring with me?
We recommend bringing:
- Swimwear
- A towel
- Flip-flops or sandals
- Warm clothing for after your session
Changing facilities are provided by event organisers.
How long is a typical recovery session?
Sessions are 45 minutes long. This may involve a combination of sauna, cold plunge and compression or massage therapy.
What is contrast therapy?
Contrast therapy involves alternating between heat (sauna) and cold (cold plunge). This process helps stimulate circulation, reduce muscle soreness and support faster recovery after intense physical effort.
Are the saunas and cold plunges safe?
Yes. All equipment is professionally maintained and facilitated by trained staff. Temperatures are carefully monitored and participants are guided on safe usage throughout their session.
Can I use the cold plunge without using the sauna?
During your 45 minute session, you have the liberty to use as many or as little of our services. It's completely up to you. Our team will always be on standby to advise on best practice for safe and effective use.
What are compression boots and compression shorts?
Compression therapy uses controlled, sequential air pressure to increase blood flow, reduce muscle fatigue and help flush metabolic waste from the legs and hips. It is a comfortable, passive recovery method suitable for post-race or between-event use.
What are percussion massage guns used for?
Percussion massage guns are used to target specific muscle groups to release tension, reduce stiffness and improve mobility. Our team can assist with correct usage and placement for maximum benefit.
Is Ignite Recovery suitable for beginners or first-time users?
Absolutely. Our team will guide you through every step, explain the benefits and ensure you are comfortable throughout your experience.
Are there any reasons I shouldn't take part?
You should not use our services if you are pregnant, have uncontrolled cardiovascular conditions, recent surgery, severe circulatory issues or are feeling unwell. If in doubt, please speak with our team before participating.
Do not use alcohol or drugs while using our services.
Do you operate in bad weather?
Yes. Ignite Recovery is fully equipped to operate outdoors in a wide range of conditions. In extreme weather, services may be adapted to ensure safety.
